Gates Foundation: $60 billion on 60 Minutes

Bill and Melinda Gates were interviewed on CBS News’ 60 Minutes Sunday evening about the Gates Foundation’s goals in global health, poverty reduction and U.S. education. The interviewer claims the Gateses have shunned publicity and that many viewers might not even recognize Melinda Gates. Huh? Oh, and the clip begins with a Viagra ad.

But besides that, it’s a good overview of the foundation’s activities.

Also at the 60 minutes web site, they have extra video clips featuring more from Bill on why he got into philanthropy and from Melinda on how saving kids lives actually helps reduce population growth. You still have to watch the Viagra ad on every one, however.
